Fastpitch Training
Team Training Sessions:
Weekly team training sessions are designed by the specific development needs of each team. Topics include defensive strategies such as: bunt defense, run-downs, 1st and 3rds, double plays, on-field communication, and proper infield and outfield mechanics. For offense, topics include sacrifice, sneaky, slap and drag bunts, lefty slapping, hitting for power to all fields, sliding, lead-offs, dive backs, aggressive base-running to take the extra base, online video hitting analysis, and the mental approach to hitting. Often times, coaches are provided with weekly practice plans that outline the objective of each drill so they are equipped with coaching techniques to last the season. Weekly team training sessions usually last 1-3 hours per session and can run anytime of the year, however the Fall and Winter seasons fill up the fastest. LI Softball Academy is a traveling service in which training programs can take place at your team's facility. Contact Coach LI for training rates depending on your organization's geographic location. Discounts are available to organizations with teams of multiple age levels.
One Day Clinics:
One day clincs for large rec, high school or travel ball organizations can be arranged by request. LI Softball Academy can provide additional instructors to provide a fast-paced instructional session with rotating stations so players are sweating and learning throughout the duration.
Coaches Clinics:
Coaches Clincs involve a combination of demonstration and discussion as coaches are encouraged to ask questions about coaching methods to their players. Topics include drills to correct common hitting mistakes, defending the short game, offensive strategies to manufacture runs, practice planning, season goal-setting, and more.
Private Lessons and Small-Group Sessions:
Private lessons run for 30 minutes, whereas small-group classes of 4 players to 1 coach are one hour long. Players receive more individual attention to identify personal athletic adjustments needed to excel.

Skills Video Production:Although full rides are not handed out after a college coach views a player's video, a skills video is important to provide a strong first impression. With three years of experience in college coaching, we know what a solid skills video should include. LI Softball Academy will direct, film, edit, and construct a personalized Youtube.com link for your skills video.
Student-Athlete Mentoring:
For student-athletes that strive to compete at the college level it is helpful to understand the college selection process as you are entering high school so that you are not scrambling for exposure at the last minute. The more educated you are in the process, the more you realize that there is more to it than impressing a coach. It has more to do with learning about yourself as a student and an athlete, to find the right match for you. A-GAME is not a college recruiting service, since we don’t brag about the millions of dollars in procurement of athletic scholarships. Unlike those types of agencies we actually get to know our clients and can assist in customizing your approach to the recruiting process. It is impossible to do that with millions of clients. A-Game provides a solid understanding of recruiting calendars, application deadlines, travel team selection, test scores, and scholarship negotiation to name a few. A-GAME requires an application process to determine if the player is committed to becoming a college-bound student-athlete. Once accepted into A-GAME, Coach LI steps in to provide representation so that the player is prepared with the right questions to ask a college coach via phone conversation or in person. After consultancy, it becomes more about talent and the custom fit.

Online Video Analysis
Description of Skill U Online Video Hitting Analysis:
In my experience as a hitting technician, many students learn a lot from their weekly private and group lessons yet they are not able to retain all the information from each session. This is understandable since there are many components to a swing and the variables change as quickly as the next unpredictable pitch is thrown across the plate. With the recent development of Skill U online hitting analysis, I have found an educational tool that allows me to analyze a student's swing by watching a short video clip that can be uploaded by a camera phone. Once a short 10 second video is uploaded, I can slow down a student's swing frame by frame and provide voice-over instruction by using drawing tools that illustrate adjustment angles and areas of correction. The best feature is that personalized hitting instruction can now be documented in real time and video archived, which enables student's to watch themselves over and over again as they work through developing an independent understanding of proper hitting technique. I often hear from parents the following, "She was hitting better in the season while she was working with you." Although I take that as a compliment, my goal is to produce independent hitters since no coach stands in the box with a player during the game. Online video hitting analysis is a way for students to learn by watching themselves whenever they need to, while my voice-over instruction allows for personalized hitting tips to be accessible at the time they sit down to watch from a computer screen, iPad, or smart phone. A 4-Pack of video analysis can allow a player to see how their swing has improved over a period of time. Lastly, I can sync up a side-by-side video of a student's swing with a current pro player so they can watch how their technique measures up with the best.
Skill U online analysis works well with hitting, yet can also provide a forum for me to train fastpitch players in proper overhand throwing, pitching, fielding, and strength and conditioning. For more information and to get started with an online analysis package, visit: skillu.com/lisa.
